Hopelessness is something that many deal with on a daily basis. I just received this prayer request minutes ago,“Heavenly Father please heal my family. I feel so alone.” One of satan’s biggest tools used on believers is hopelessness. If you are being honest, you have experienced hopelessness in your own life at some point, perhaps even as you read this. I’ll be honest with you, this week I was attack with hopelessness and it’s one of the worse feelings in the world.
The Bible says the following:
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:10
You see...satan is focused on taking you down. If he can get you to feel hopeless in your marriage, job, future, finances, kids, friends etc… than he can destroy you and any potential you have.
In Isaiah 61:3 it says, “The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;” I think this verse would really hit home if it was written, “The garment of praise for the DEMON of heaviness.”
Can you have heaviness and it not be a demon? of course. However, I really believe a lot of the time satan has come to put hopelessness and heaviness on us so we cannot function. Getting someone to pray over us when we feel hopelessness is powerful and putting on worship music is a huge tool in the battle to defeat heaviness, this is why the Bible says put on the garment of praise. It’s like God has given us the prescription for the sickness that has been placed upon us. The later part of John 10:10 says that God has given us life and that He wants us to have it more abundantly. That sounds like the total opposite of hopelessness, amen? satan cannot create anything, he can only pervert what God has already made. God has given us an abundant life, satan has perverted that and brings us hopelessness. We need to learn to see the tools of satan so we can win the battle. With 40 percent of those going to church not even believing satan is real, no wonder we are getting our proverbial behinds kicked
I woke up this morning really hearing the Lord saying that I was to write about hopelessness.
“Life can be so frustrating at times and satan knows just exactly when to attack and he knows exactly what tactics to use. He watches and he is patient so when he sees you are down he knows it is time to kick you even harder so he can get you to the point of feeling as though your situation is hopeless. Your situation is never hopeless unless you give up or you refuse to give it all to GOD! I know how it feels to be in a situation where you are at the end of all you can take and you can’t see how things can work out...however, as our ancestors would often say [who literally had to deal with what looked hopeless every time they walked out their doors into greater society...]
"But GOD!"
--------------------------------------------
Whatever it is you are facing today JESUS would like you to come to Him just like the lady who just knew “If I touch even his garments, I will be made well.” Take any feelings of hopelessness, hurt or frustration you may have today and know that He does care and He can and will help, pour your heart out to Him today trusting that He will move in your life and He can heal you of your illness, He can heal your marriage and your finances, nothing is too difficult for Him! In the case of this woman, Jesus didn’t even set out to help her, she believed and it was so. Trust Him today, pray that He will give you any faith you are lacking for your situation and walk in victory today, knowing that the best is yet to come!”
A great quote out there is, “Hope never dies where faith is strong, and faith grows strong in the presence of hope.” Chad Whitmeyer
I want to take a minute and share a few scriptures that will be of great encouragement to you to so you can overcome any hopelessness.
Psalm 34:17-20, “When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken.”
Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
Isaiah 40:31, “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
Revelation 21:4, “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
Ephesians 3:20, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.”
There is HOPE! See hopelessness for what it is, an attack from satan. Pray against it, listen to worship music and spend time in the Word of God so you can hear the truth and find out about God’s abundance for your life.
You will win the battle, there is hope and God is working on your behalf so DON’T GIVE UP. Do me a favor, share this blog like crazy through email, blogs, Twitter, Facebook etc… So many need a Rhema, or otherwise right now applicable word of encouragement from the Lord...TODAY!
